Running the Digital Media Renderer and Digital Media Controller Tests
Note This content applies to the Windows Logo Kit (WLK). For the latest information using the new Windows Hardware Certification Kit (HCK), see Windows HCK User's Guide on the Windows Hardware Dev Center.
To implement Digital Media Renderer testing, you must manually copy the media files to the Windows 7 DTM Client. To do this, follow these steps:
From the Windows 7 client, locate the media files on your controller. The media can be found in the following location:
\\<controller>\Tests\x86fre\NTTest\multimediatest\sharing\netmedialogotests\media
Copy all of the files in the media folder to a folder to be shared out. For example: C:\WLKContent
Note If the files are not present on the controller, please go to "Preparing for the Network Media Device Testing"
Share out the copied files. Right-click the folder you created (for example: C:\WLKContent) and select Include in Library.
Select Music, and repeat the steps for Pictures and Videos.
Run Windows Media Player and ensure that streaming is enabled.
To enable streaming, from the Stream menu, select Turn on media streaming...
Click Turn on media streaming.
To run the logo tests and create a submission cabinet file to send to WHQL for logo approval, either run the logo tests from a previously saved device job schedule file, or create a new submission. These procedures are as follows:
Use the Create New Submission Wizard to Select and Run Logo Tests
Run the DTM Studio
Open a Device Console window from the Explorers menu.
Select your DTM controller from the drop-down box at the upper left of the Device Console window.
Click the Submission drop down.
Select <New Submission> from the Submission drop-down box near the right-side of the Device Console window, and follow the instructions in the Create New Submission wizard that appears.
Choose the logo tests to run:

b. Select a submission category, and then click Next.
c. Select the appropriate logo program under Network Media Device - Digital Media Renderer or Digital Media Renderer Wireless, and then click Next.
d. Select a Qualification Level, and then click Next.
e. Enter a name for the submission, click the machine pool you created earlier, and then click Next.
f. Select I am not providing an INF or driver package in the lower left hand corner, and then click Next.
h. Select the Device Not Listed box, and then click Next.

After the logo tests have all passed successfully, you can submit the logo test results to WHQL for approval.
Reviewing Test Errors
To evaluate your Network Media Device error, you will need to do the following.
Locate the error in the Job Execution Status pane of the Job Monitor.
Click the error. This will bring up the tasks in the Task Execution pane.
Locate the RunNetMediaLogoTests.exe in Task Execution Status of the Job Monitor.
Right-click the Run NetMediaLogoTests.exe and choose View Task Log. This will provide you with a report of the failures.
Running the Rally LLTD and WCN Tests
In order to implement the Rally tests, it is important to make sure your network is configured correctly. The LLTD test will turn wireless on and off, and it uses the specified IP addresses to ensure its success. Failure to configure your network correctly will cause LLTD failures.
As specified in the Network Configuration, set the following:
Set your Windows 7 client network to Private.
Set your routers IP LAN address to 192.168.0.1.
Set your Windows 7 client PC LAN IP address to 192.168.0.10.
Set your Windows 7 client PC Wireless IP address to 192.168.0.11.
For complete details on running the Rally tests, please go to WCN Logo Test and LLD2 Responder Verification Tests.
