Trying to connect to Surface Pro 3, not sure what the error is!!

    On the Surface Pro, try checking in Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Windows Firewall\Allowed apps, and make sure "Remote Desktop Connection" is allowed to pass through.

    Make sure Remote Desktop Connection is enabled also.

    Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\System\Remote Settings.

    See if any other security software is blocking you.

    So, interestingly enough, I tried all of those (method 2 N/A) and still can't connect my cellphone to my remote desktop pc; could it be the administrator changes Microsoft issued a while back for Home and starter version users?

    If so, anyway around it, i.e. other apps, web sharing urls etc.?
