What is AI enhanced plan generation?
AI enhanced plan generation is a feature now available in preview on Microsoft Learn. Users can provide information about their goals, background, objectives and timeline into a form, and using that information, a Microsoft Learn skilling plan will be created, personalized to those inputs.
The output, in the form of a plan, primarily contains self-paced training content published on Microsoft Learn. It also includes AI generated text used for titles, descriptions, and milestone information.
AI enhanced plans help users to skill themselves on Microsoft Learn by matching users to training content which matches their goals and objectives.
AI enhanced plan generation was evaluated through manual and automated testing, including assessments for accuracy, relevance, groundedness, coherence, etc. Other evaluations were performed over custom datasets for offensive and malicious prompts (user text inputs) and responses. In addition, user feedback is continuously evaluated to improve performance.
What are the limitations of AI enhanced plan generation? How can users minimize the effect of its limitations when using the service?
- AI enhanced plan generation is currently in a preview release state. As such, its responses might be inaccurate, irrelevant, or unexpected while we work to further refine the user experience.
- Text within the plan generated using AI and might be incorrect. We strongly recommend users review it for accuracy.
- AI supported plan generation is currently only supported in English, although the self-paced content contained wherein may be available in a number of languages.
- AI enhanced plan generation currently only supports the inclusion of learning paths published on Microsoft Learn.
- The plan generation model performs a search against the index of Learn content for most user inputs. It performs best when users input clear, simple, specific details with strong keywords or phrases. Avoid short, ambiguous sentences without clear keywords, or detailed, verbose messages with extraneous context.
What operational factors and settings allow for effective and responsible use of AI enhanced plan generation?
The plan generation model operates reliably and safely when users provide clear, simple, and specific details with strong keywords or phrases. It's important to avoid short, ambiguous sentences without clear keywords, as well as detailed, verbose messages with extraneous context. Users can customize their inputs by adjusting the level of detail and specificity, which directly impacts the system's performance. Clear and specific inputs enhance the model's accuracy, while ambiguous or overly detailed inputs may reduce its effectiveness.
Your feedback is critical to improving the plan generation service. You can leave feedback for every plan generated by selecting the thumbs up button to leave positive feedback, or thumbs down to leave negative feedback on the 'review plan' page.
You can also leave a comment. Give as much detail as you can, but don't include any private or sensitive information. Our feedback service will collect your form inputs, the feedback you provided as well as the plan generated (outputs). Microsoft will only retain this data for a period of no longer than 30 days.
