Preparing for Windows Media Center Remote Control Certification

Note  This content applies to the Windows Logo Kit (WLK). For the latest information using the new Windows Hardware Certification Kit (HCK), see Windows HCK User's Guide on the Windows Hardware Dev Center.

Before you attempt to logo a Windows Media Center remote control through WLP, please contact Microsoft as prescribed in step 1 of Running the Windows Media Center Remote Control Certification Tests. (You can omit this step, but you will not be able to logo the remote.)

Before running the tests, configure the system and install the operating system. This section summarizes the related procedures.

Test system configuration

To configure the test systems for Media Center remote control logo testing, do the following:

Connect an approved Windows Media Center IR receiver to the client system.
