Intellisense and snippets are not working

This is a general problem that started with 17.5: intellisense, renaming, underlining all failing; GoToDeclaration etc all much slower. Possibly related to Boost (https://developercommunity.visualstudio.com/t/VS2022-175-C-Intellisense-fails-on-i/10291033?q=intellisense&sort=newest) though difficult to see why such a library should cause such widespread IDE problems. I guess Intellisense relies on an incremental compilation? Unfortunately, 17.5.1 didn't fix any of the problem

I've been having this exact problem with a C++ solution since updating to 17.5.

I confirm the same problem for me. Using Boost 1.72, 1.76, 1.81 in different projects via nuget packages from nuget.org. IntelliSense quickly fails on parsing boost headers, and all functionality becomes broken, making VS totally unusable.
Had to rollback to VS2019

Same problem here. Not using script manager.
intellisense (eg pressing .) doesn't work on old OR new projects.
I've never heard of 'boost libraries', I'm probably not using them? I do C# 6 MVC and Blazor Server. It's broken in both.
Definitely looks like a problem with the latest update and needs fixing urgently!

regularly breaks and doesn't work, just garbage basically
I've been having this problem across 2 different machines for a few months, always updating to latest VS, including right now.Latest update still hasn't fixed it. Intellisense still not working.

I'm running 17.7.4 (which is up to date today) and intellisense is not working either. When will this be fixed?????

I also have issues with Intellisense in the current version of Visual Studio 2022 (17.8.3). It does not display parameters from a '.razor' added after linking to another page, in addition to other behaviors that degrade productivity.

same here, I've got 17.13.2 and it broke recently, any news how to fix it. Used copilot to give me any troubleshooting steps but nothing worked.
update to 17.13.3 fixed the issue

Updated to Visual Studio 2022 version 17.8.4 but IntelliSense still doesn't work and the text colors in the editor are messed up. I don't use Boost.

I had reported a bug like this, one cannot open a folder (instead of a .sln, which is a new option in Visual Studio) and have IntelliSense. The complaint about it was somehow refused, and the case closed (to my amazement) , so the support is maybe not that good, though the language C# is..
In my case i opened as folder as there were multiple projects inside the Git Branche side by side. (no .sln) Just as one would with VSCODE (.csprj) and vscode doesnt have this problem.
I kinda wonder the future for visual studio.. perhaps it had its best year and VScode takes over, or we see some late fix for this VSstudio 2025 or Visual Studio 2028 or so ;)
Their support also seen with other cases (around copilot) isnt just what it used to be.
