One of my colleagues from the HPC team brought this to my attention:

"Jim discusses HPC/cluster computing. His comments on HPC being currently seen as a function outside the OS and the corresponding data platform currently being seen as outside the database group was interesting.

He also talks about his TerraServer and SkyServer projects.

Part 1 of the talk ends with him asking “what are you going to do with this large amount of data?” The HPC space has an exciting future."
