error 0x80070422 usually occurs when Windows Update is unable to download or install updates. Here are some steps you can take to resolve this issue:
- Check if the Windows Update service is running. Press the Windows key + R, type "services.msc" and press Enter. Look for the Windows Update service and make sure it is running. If it is not running, right-click on it and select "Start".
- Check if the Windows Update settings are correct. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and click on "Advanced options". Make sure that the settings are set to "Automatic (recommended)".
- Disable any third-party antivirus software temporarily. Sometimes, antivirus software can interfere with Windows Update. Try disabling your antivirus software temporarily and see if that resolves the issue.
- Run the Windows Update troubleshooter. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot and select "Windows Update". Follow the on-screen instructions to run the troubleshooter.
