Managing Campaign Responses

Campaign responses record the fact that one of your customers or potential customers responded to one of your company’s marketing campaigns. Unlike Letter or Phone Call activities, campaign response records were not designed to represent an action item for a Microsoft Dynamics CRM user (although your company may be using this feature differently).

Because of their intended use, campaign responses are designed to be converted to another record type, such as a lead for a new customer, or a quote, order, or opportunity for an existing account or contact. When you convert the campaign response, Microsoft Dynamics CRM automatically closes it. However, you can also close a response without converting it. In either case, open the response and click the Convert Campaign Response button on the toolbar to see the dialog box with all of your choices.

You can read more about capturing campaign responses at 4 ways to put campaign responses to work for you.

Enjoy.

I need to close several thousand campaign responses, whereby the response was recorded but the users have not then immediately 'Converted' the responses. Doing a bulk close from the Action menu on an advanced find works fine - except that it means the Activity is not visible against the Contact in 'History' it goes into limbo as far as knowing what the customer responded. This is because the bulk close doesn't give the option of closing as 'Complete' - this is only available from 'Convert' and then only one-by-one. Any ideas how I can bulk close these responses as Complete?

Does campaign responses linked to a contact, the owner of linked contact inherits visibility to the activity. Therefore they can see the campaign responses even if their native security role would prevent it.
