Road Trip Diary, part 1

(originally posted on blogs.msdn.com/cdndevs by Joey DeVilla)

rt damir at the wheelDamir at the wheel, looking for an opening on the Don Valley Parkway.

I’m blogging and tweeting from the road today! My coworker Damir Bersinic (IT Pro Evangelist) and I have been loaned a Ford Flex equipped with Microsoft’s Sync and I’ve got my laptop hooked up to a Rogers internet stick. The photo above was taken just before noon, when we were on the Don Valley Parkway, right around Richmond Street.

I’ll be posting quite regularly from the road, so watch this space!

It almost looks like Damir is talking on the phone while driving which will soon be a no-no in Ontario and is definitely a big no-no in Quebec.... If Caught. :-)

Actually I can say that Damir is in fact NOT using his phone in that photo - he's already paired it up with the Microsoft SYNC which is included in this model of Flex. How do I know? He called me using voice command to test out his pairing when he was still parked in the Microsoft Parking lot. That raises the question of what he's doing with his hand - and I will have to leave that for him to answer. Rick

  1. He could be tapping the window while listening to Anthrax.
  2. Giving someone the finger [can't see THE finger and the other car must be right beside or a bit to the back of the left lane]
  3. hearing something funny on the radio [he's actually smiling] - arm wresting next to the window.
  4. Thinking how he can get back at Rick for something Rick did to him at the last Tech days shows - arm still wresting next to the window. :-)
