15th Nov, Yokohama, Japan.
I've now arrived at the Royal Park Hotel in Yokohama, Japan after an 11 hour and 30 minute flight from London/Heathrow and 90 minutes on a train - jetlag is a wonderful thing
The trip from Narita airport to Yokohama was extremely simple - thanks to everyone that gave suggestions on how to get to Yokohama - the Narita Express train goes straight to Yokohama - very nice...
My hotel room is on the 58th floor, there's quite a view of the city from the hotel room.
Time to go exploring before I fall asleep... - There's a large, multi-level shopping mall attached to the hotel, I bet there's something interesting there...
Yep! - Found the Starbucks, that didn't take long....
Time for a Grande Vanilla Latte and a slice of Lemon Pound Cake (the cake looks interesting/different - but tasted pretty good, I might have to go back tomorrow for some more).
There's a huge ferris wheel close to the hotel, it's pretty windy out today so I doubt there are too many customers going for a ride.
The whole shopping mall is decked out in Christmas decorations, that was quite a surprise, I wasn't sure whether Christmas was celebrated in Japan or not.
I wonder if they have baked beans for breakfast here...

Hi Mike! Did you know that Microsoft Imagine Cup 2005 was taking place in the hotel next to the one you're living in now? :). Some of the judges even lived in the same hotel as you now.Anonymous

I didn't know that Imagine Cup 2005 was held close to this hotel, that's interesting! I have a free morning tomorrow (launch rehearsals are tomorrow afternoon), so plan on getting out and looking around the area.

Is it just my setup or is the media no longer available from the Windows CE 6.0 launch site ?Anonymous

seems to be working just fine for me - I went to the http://www.ce6launch.com site, signed in using my passport account and then viewed one of the sessions (Doug Boling talking about Kernel/Memory Architecture). Let me know if you are still having problems and any error messages you get, I can pass these back to the web team.

Yes, Yokohama does appear to be a very nice place - I went for a walkabout for a few hours this morning, the weather was nice. I took some photos (using my i320 smartphone) while on the walk, some of the images are posted on the MEDC2006Team Flickr site - http://www.flickr.com/photos/medc2006team/

You really should try the Katsu-Don breakfast in one of the Soba-Ya in the underground. A big bowl of noodle soup with a couple of thin slices of port cutlet, it keeps you warm on cold mornings until at least 10am.
