Advanced Find Queries
You can create an Advanced Find query to return all active cases and sort by case owner. For cases, Microsoft CRM does not differentiate between accounts and contacts. So your results will also include contacts.
- In Advanced Find, in the Look for list, select Cases.
- Click Select, and then select Status.
- Click Value, and then move Active to the Selected Values, and click OK.
This will return all active cases.
Now to change the columns and sort order.
- Click Edit Columns.
- On the Edit Columns dialog box, select and remove any columns you don’t want.
- Click Add Columns, and then in the Add Columns dialog, select Owner and Customer.
- Use the arrows to move the columns to the far left with Owner in the first column.
- Click Configure Sorting. You can only sort by one column.
- In the Column list, select Owner, and then click OK.
- Click Find to run the query.
The results will display all of the cases sorted by owner and display the customer name.
You can save this query as a view and share it with others in your organization. For step by step procedures, click Help on the Advanced Find page.
