Teched 2007: A Final Note..

teched

Well TechEd 2007 on the Gold Coast wrapped up for another year. This is my final thoughts on the event because it's time to move on to weird and wonderful topics. I'll also include my impressions of TechEd New Zealand which I spoke at this week.

This year I think we did a good job creating buzz and connecting with delegates. I think the speaker room was purposely small and not very appealing so more speakers were out on the show floor. Well it certainly worked well because most of us spent our time on the Technet stand. As you can see each day we setup all our gear so everyone could see it.

Michael and I had both our demo servers setup and one of the speakers had a cluster in a box on the stand as well.  We set it all up right in the middle of the stand so everyone could grab a good glimpse.

TechEd this year was all about sessions and I hope you got to go to some good sessions or hands on labs and got some of those questions answered.  Based on some of the feedback I've been looking at delegates were happy with how the content turned out.  Personally I think we need to do a better job with projection because some of the rooms it was difficult to see demo's from the back.

Teched was also about T-Shirts and stickers!  there were lots of Frank stickers going around, stickers from the bloggers lunch and lots from the various stands.  There were also many cool t-shirts and below are 1 of my favorites.

My mate Pete Calvert had this on the last day of the conference and said it freaked him out when he looked at in the mirror because he could read it.  Can you read what it says?

And of course during the Locknote all of my team put on our Simpsons Avatar shirts for Frank.  Who did a good job despite not having much of a voice left!Teched 076

Here is the front of the shirt.  All of my team as a Simpson!  Too cool.  Get yours at www.simpsonizeme.com.

During the Ask the Experts I met another Jeff Alexander!  Below is the picture to prove it!
