RSS Feeds and IE7
I'm loving the Internet Explorer 7 integrated RSS feed button that is tied to the Favorites button. (you can click on the picture to the right to see what I see at a larger size.)
Now I track 50 or blogs but only visit the ones that have been updated. I know, I know, a lot of us have been doing this for years. But it used to involve subscriptions and/or installing a reader.
Now you do this using the browser without any special steps. And the many people that I show this to, didn't realize it was there or how powerful it is!
How to Use RSS on Microsoft.com
Now that you are familiar with IE7's RSS features, displaying Microsoft.com RSS feeds in your newsreader is simple. The icon next to a set of links or headlines on Microsoft.com indicates you can subscribe to the associated RSS feed.
To subscribe:
1. Click the RSS icon next to a set of links or headlines.
2. Click on the "Subscribe to this feed" prompt.
For an example of an RSS feed on Microsoft.com to which you can subscribe, see the following:

From a reader who couldn't comment to this post: Wow you are a hard person to locate – especially for someone who’s MSDN Blog is about “people connections” but you don’t allow comments nor do you have an email link to contact you. I had read your blog article: http://blogs.msdn.com/jim_glass/archive/2007/03/02/rss-feeds-and-ie7.aspx And wanted to point you to a fun add-on called “Feeds Plus” (written by your RSS Group) – Feeds Plus adds pop-up notification to your RSS feeds. http://www.enhanceie.com/ie/feedsplus.asp Blake Handler Microsoft MVP http://bhandler.spaces.live.comAnonymous
