Using Sun's JRE on XPe

Sun Microsystems' JRE (Java Runtime Environment) is one of the more popular third party software platforms for application developers and embedded device manufacturers, this includes XP Embedded as well. I've seen Sun's JRE on everything from XPe Set Top Boxes, Point of Sale, Kiosks and Gaming devices.

The JRE link above is to the download location for the full installer. If you are footprint constrained, you may need a component in order to install it offline instead of from the desktop. For that scenario, I ran across Brad Combs' JRE component over at XPeFiles.com.

In Brad's post for that component, he says he used Sean Liming's Component Helper tool.
