MWSF round-up

I keep on meaning to write a round-up of MWSF, but Daring Fireball beat me to it with their Macworld Expo 2006 in Review. I especially think that the thoughts about why Apple didn't change the case design for the Intel-based Macs that they announced was spot-on.

As I've said before, I doubt the case design staying the same had anything to do with a good marketing strategy. In fact, it is very likely to confuse users. Especially in the long run. It looks as the case design was necessitated by the rush. I mean, Apple only had 6 months to "Design" these things and they did no design whatsoever. They just used intel standard parts for the inside and an existing case design for the outside. In fact, the power management software isn't even ready yet (and thus there is no processor performance setting in the Energy Saver preference pane).
