Paul Graham has a new essay: How to Be Silicon Valley. He discusses what he thinks is necessary to grow your very own Silicon Valley. His main point is that you need a place where geeks want to live and thrive, which requires an interesting city (not suburbia) and lots of other geeks. You also need some patience and willingness to nurture your area's organic growth; you can't just expect it to happen overnight.
