Rogue DHCP Server's are bad...

Well today I did something I probably haven't done in about 10 or 15 years if at all.  I put one of my Windows Server 2008 virtual machines on the corporate network.  Problem is it's DC, DHCP Server and DNS Server!  Doh!

I had guys from the GTSC team looking for me including Daniel who was pinging me asking me if I was the one..They were trying to remote into the DC and shut it down but they couldn't guess my password.  At least I had good security on the box now.

Server is off the network now and life is back to normal...

  I always wondered about this and now you have confirmed it. Just out of curiosity - How can they determine that there is another DC?
