Made it to Auscert 2007
Hi folks,
Well I made it to the sunny Gold Coast for the annual Auscert Conference and as per usual we are at Royal Pines Resort which is really hard to take since I'm such a keen golfer. But this year I didn't register in time to make it into the golf day so I'm minus my golf clubs this year! Oh well not too worry..
So today is really just setup of the laptops and welcome drinks for all delegates at 6:00PM. So what is Auscert exactly? Well they are "Australia's National Computer Emergency Response Team" responsible for providing computer incident prevention, and response and mitigation strategies.
So every year they have a conference at Royal Pines and this year's theme of the conference is IT Security: Finding the balance. Hmmm not sure what that means but we'll see what they mean as the conference goes on. However if you are in IT Security then the yearly Auscert conference is a must attend.
So my job this year is to be on the Microsoft stand as a technical person talking about security in Windows Vista and other products.
So stay tuned as I provide daily updates of the event...
till next time!
Cheers, Jeffa
