Heroes Needed..
Hi folks,
With the launch of Windows Server 2008, Visual Studio 2008 and SQL Server 2008 early next year we are looking for people that are using these technologies in positive ways. It can be anything really but mostly cool ways you are taking advantage of the new technologies in our Wave 08 products.
We’re looking for stories of people using our technologies to impact others in unique and positive ways. They could have helped to solve a problem, create a new solution, or benefit others in their organization or community through their use of Windows Server 2008, SQL Server 2008 or Visual Studio 2008 using one or more of the technologies found in the product. A Hero can be a man or a woman, an individual or a team working for any size organization. They could be an IT Manager, Developer, DBA or decision maker (or a combination of all). Stories can be dramatic, funny, surprising or simple. We’re especially looking for stories where the solution has gone above and beyond the “norm”.
Internally we are calling this "Hero's Happen Here" and in case you are wondering it's not a case study per se. These are more stories we want to use at the launch of these 3 products. The stories of how you are using one of these technologies needs to be an exceptional one so be creative.
So how do you get that story to me? Well put a comment against this post or send me an email at jeffa@microsoft.com and I'll send you out a form and get your story nominated.
What Kind of Stories Are We Looking For?
The theme of this campaign, “Heroes Happen Here” implies that these stories must be exceptional in some way. The Microsoft messages around Windows Server 2008, SQL Server 2008, and/or Visual Studio 2008 should be supported by the submissions – stories around the web and scalability, efficiency and flexibility and security.
Sometimes the greatest form of heroism is shown when nothing happens—a story where people or computers were protected without it being completely apparent to the outside world may be worthy of telling.
Stories that show an ability to scale up, or down, quickly; stories about financial savings that will help an organization thrive or survive; stories that show a societal impact; stories that positively affect the environment; and stories that bring people together and enhance communication.
Stories can be serious, dramatic or humorous but they must be accurate and verifiable.
So if you have a story then please let me know and if you want to keep track of the Wave Launch then download the Vista gadget!
