Smartphone Round Robin

image

Smartphone Experts has launched a fascinating Round Robin event in which the editors from Treo, Blackberry, Windows Mobile, and iPhone community sites have their everyday smartphones swapped out for a competitor: the Treo 680, iPhone, Blackberry 8310, and AT&T Tilt. Editors are required to use the device as their sole smartphone and music device and must complete a list of common scenarios, such as syncing PIM data, setting up email, getting directions, etc. While they are trying out devices, the editors post blog articles and also respond to the pluses and minuses noted by others.

So far, there are several articles posted, including the WinMo editor’s take on the Treo, the Treo editor’s reaction to the iPhone, and the iPhone editor’s review of the Blackberry, there is also the Blackberry editor’s use of the Tilt.

I thought this was a really great idea and you can get more information at Smartphone Experts site

Thanks for the note! We're all having a ton of fun with it.  I think next time we may have to try running it for two weeks at a time, seems like my compatriots are having a rough time moving from learning Windows Mobile to customizing Windows Mobile.

Dieter - yep 2 weeks might be better as then people get deeper into the devices and experiences.  It's a great idea though!  I personally regularly try competitive devices to get to understand those experiences more and more
