Blackberry network down

There are reports emerging that the Blackberry Network has suffered a massive system failure and has been down since 8pm US time affecting all Blackberry Users in the western hemisphere. 

RIM has said its infrastructure failed around 8 p.m. Tuesday and has been down ever since.

E-mails are not being pushed to portable blackberry devices.

What's interesting for me on this is that I sat in sessions yesterday at the Gartner conference where they claimed that the Network Operations Centre Model should provide greater reliablility.....

    Rob - absolutely not - just recognising that having a single point of failure with such a potential huge impact is not good...
