Is it just me who thinks The Independent has missed the point when Steve Ballmer holds up an HP slate and shows an apple on it? I mean seriously, is there any room for humour or is that only allowed in Steve Jobs’ keynotes? Thankfully Fortune has a sense of humour…

    Agree, Steve. Does anyone in their right mind think that, through weeks & weeks of planning for CES, and the millions of book covers that could have been chosen, that the Microsoft PR department did not deliberately chose that particular cover to maximize media coverage and demonstrate some tongue-in-cheek humor? The Independent is a paper that used to position itself as the intelligent choice, but don't seem to be demonstrating it much on this one.
