Wish I could go to Tech Ed
Most of what I have been reading lately on the blogosphere is about going to Orlando and Tech Ed.
I wish I could go to Tech Ed. =(
- It is in Orlando. It is 55 degrees and overcast right now in Seattle
- I love talking to customer about Visual Studio. I never get to talk to customers enough in my role as a SDET – hence why I blog
- I’ve wanted to go year after year
- The last time I was in Orlando, I was a popcorn vendor in the Magic Kingdom
One day, perhaps. One day…

Orlando has been very rainy and humid for several days. You are not missing much at the moment, at least as far as the weather goes. - Anonymous

Monday morning it is supposed to be 48 degrees! I'm missing plenty. =)
Anyways, I miss the thunderstorms that only the Gulf Coast can bring. Up here, it just isn't the same.

I know how you feel :(
A friend of mine is attending, the funny part is that it is cheaper for a company in Denmark to stuff their people in a plane and send them to the states, than send the to the European TechEd in Amsterdam. - Anonymous

Maybe you should be a PM? I agree, it's a shame SDETs don't get to interact with customers more. As SDETs though, we owe it to ourselves to find creative ways to get in front of customers. Blogging is a great vehicle, and so are user group meetings, usability studies, ISV buddy programs, etc. I'm sure you know all this, but maybe other SDETs reading this could get some tips. :) - Anonymous

Yeah, I seriously thought about becoming a PM a couple of years ago, but let's just say things didn't work out. Anyways, i love breaking software way too much not to be a tester. =)
