Adding Solutions to Solutions

If you ever need to combine solutions, here’s how to do it…

1. Open your main solution (the solution you want to add another solution to)
2. Go to File – Add – Add Existing Project
3. Change “Files of type” to Solution Files
4. Select the sln file

Results:
All of your projects have now been successfully added to your main solution

This also works in VS 2003.

What about VSS? In a project with multiple solutions, do you provide a project root in VSS for each solution? If yes, do you have the master solution under source control as well?

In any case, how do you deal with cross file references? Do you remove them manually from source control in any solution that references to files of projects in other solutions?
