New Environment Websites

At Microsoft we have a number of initiatives at work now to help reduce our impact on the environment and help to stop global warming.  I know through talking to many of you in the IT sector that there are a wide range of opinions on this issue.  But at the end of the day we can all do something to help this global problem.

We have a number of initiatives both locally and globally to help raise awareness and to show you how our software can help to solve this problem.  We have launched a new Microsoft Environment website that many resources that can help you to contribute.  Check out the Technical Guidance section for information on how our latest products such as Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008 can help the environment and reduce your running costs along seeblog the way.

We also have a new Blog called SEE or Software Enabled Earth.  These guys are blog about how software is being used to help the environment.

And finally there is Carbon Grove which is a carbon footprint reminder service run by the Windows Internet Explorer team.

And don’t forget our own Little Miss Enviro Geek who is based here in Sydney and has a passion for all things environment and in particular sustainable IT.

So there are lots of resources in this space.  Check them out when you get time and make sure you become a champion for Green IT in your organization.
