Camels, XAML and Silverlight is dead? Long live Silverlight 5!
Silverlight is dead, but Scott Guthrie on Dec. 2, 2010, not too long ago, stated the following and about the future of Silverlight:
”… [W}e do live in a very connected world now, and there are a lot of devices out there, and users demand and expect the richest possible experiences on them. And it's important to recognize, there's not going to be one technology that's going to be used to do all of it. At Microsoft, our goal is to kind of provide a technology portfolio that enables developers to build the best possible user experiences. We're going to be investing heavily in HTML5, and we want to make sure we have the best browser out there that supports it.
We're also going to invest very heavily in Silverlight, and we're going to make sure that you can build the richest possible media and applications with it. And we're investing in WPF and enabling you to build great desktop applications with it. “

Scott Guthrie also blogged about the release of Silverlight 5 at:
Let’s bottom line this whole Silverlight thing:
XAML is the tool you use for presentation layers in Silverlight and WPF, there are some differences but not much. HTML 5 is cool and there are investments in HTML5, you should consider putting your time in studying HTML5 and maybe go to one of the HTML 5 training “camps”.
The improved Silverlight capabilities in Silverlight 5
- Databinding and MVVM
- WCF and RIA Services
- Text and Printing
- Graphics
- Out of Browser
- Performance
Feel free to comment that Silverlight is dead. Long Live Silverlight!

Dear JL (you know who you are): I appreciate the comment, but I can't allow curse words, so I deleted it and your name (for your protection). Please, in general I post every comment, I don't get many, except for obvious SpAm, you know, things like vitamins, vacation trips, enlarger body parts, and so forth. If you are going to use a curse word then please use the substitute word that isn't a curse word.
