Yes, it's what we've all been waiting for. The official Help documentation for Lync Server 2010 is available!

Okay, so maybe what everyone has really been waiting for is the actual product itself, but hey, this is the next best thing, right? Why not get a head start by reading about Lync Server before you actually jump in and try to deploy it? (Believe us, this is definitely the best route to take.) What kinds of things can you read about right now? These kinds of things:

Getting Started . Find out what's new in Lync Server 2010 and get familiar with the numerous features.

Planning . If you’re still wondering why you’d want to look at the documentation before you have the product, this is it. You need to plan out your deployment, so you’ll want to look through this and find out what you need to know before you try to run anything.

Supportability . Topologies, collocation, migration paths – what can you really do?

Deployment . Time to get your hands dirty and get this thing installed.

Migration . Are you moving to Lync Server 2010 from Office Communications Server 2007 R2? Then you’ll definitely want to take a look at this part of the Help docs. (If you’re migrating from Office Communications Server 2007 [the original version, not the R2 version], you’re going to have to wait just a bit longer, we’re not quite ready to publish that migration guide yet.)

Operations . This is the best part. This is where you’ll find all the Help for Lync Server PowerShell. (Okay, so we’re a little biased here on the Lync PowerShell blog.) All the cmdlet help that you’ll be able to retrieve directly from the command prompt once you have the product you can also find right here under Lync Server Management Shell . (Yes, there’s some other stuff here too, like Group Chat and Devices, if you’re into that sort of thing.)
