A week of System Centre Operations Manager
With our week of System Centre Configuration Manager 2012 not even started, we’re already planning a week of Operations Manager 2012.
So it’s still not a week (it’s four days) and they’re not days (they’re four, one hour slots).
These will be online, Lync meetings running from 13:30 – 14:30. If you’re interested in attending please email me and I’ll send you the meeting invitation. We’ll fix this for future meetings (we’re just waiting on our Office 365 tenancy).
Monday 10thDecember
In this session we will cover the initial design and setup of SCOM and all the components of the application. You will learn how to size and deploy your monitoring solution. We will deploy the DW and we will look at ACS.
Tuesday 11thDecember
In this session we will look at management pack import, MP tuning and MP guides. You will learn how to manage the key part of SCOM – the MP. After this session you will really understand how monitoring takes place on a server.
Wednesday 12thDecember
In this session we will look at the core components of SCOM; Rules, Monitors and Discoveries. We will create custom rules, and monitors to do a number of common tasks. Then we will build a Distributed Application and see how monitoring works from a holistic view.
Thursday 13thDecember
In this session we will look at SCOM reporting and how it works, we will create custom reports and see how we can schedule reports. We will then look at the new network monitoring feature in SCOM.
We really hope you can attend these online meetings. If you can’t, don’t worry as we’ll be recording them for future viewing.
