Scheduler Terminology

  • Heartbeat
    A message sent from the test client to the controller that validates the condition of the computer.

  • Job Delivery Agent
    The component responsible for the interaction between the test computers and the controller, sometimes also called the Push Daemon. A datastore can have more than one Job Delivery Agent, depending on the load on the datastore.

  • Run
    A group of job instances that can be scheduled as a unit.
