Running the Keyboard Tests
Note This content applies to the Windows Logo Kit (WLK). For the latest information using the new Windows Hardware Certification Kit (HCK), see Windows HCK User's Guide on the Windows Hardware Dev Center.
The primary manual test in the keyboard test suite is Winkey. Winkey requires the installation of a keyboard filter driver before the test will run successfully, so the following instructions should be followed for each test involving Winkey (1-key, 2-key, 3-key, and Media-key tests):
When the Winkey UI appears for the first time, select the option Install Driver. The system will restart.
When the Winkey UI appears for the second time (after you logged back in), select the option Run test.
When the Winkey UI appears for the third time, select the option Uninstall Driver. This will return the system to its previous state so that subsequent tests will succeed.
