Preparing for the Printer Testing

Before tests can be run on the client system, the system must have the operating system installed and configured for the logo that is being obtained and the device that is obtaining the logo. This section summarizes the related procedures to set up the studio in preparation for running the submission.

Many of the tests in the Windows Logo Kit (WLK) require a test system to restart (often more than once) to complete a test run. The test description and the running instructions specify whether a test requires a system restart. Although these tests programmatically restart the test system, you must manually log on to the test system after each system restart so that the test run can resume.

Test System Configuration

You no longer need to configure the multipoint control unit (MCU) policy. The work that was being done during the MCU policy run time is now included in the client setup.

After you have set up the controller, created a machine pool, and moved the client systems to the machine pool, you can begin to create a submission. For information about how to do this, please see Running the Printer Tests.

To add client systems to the new print machine pool, follow the standard WLK instructions for adding clients to a machine pool.
