Log Device Types

The DTM Logger defines a log device as an object that can process a trace from a test job. Logger supports the following device types for use in device strings:

  • $LocalPub - local publisher

  • $LogFile - XML log file

  • $PlainLog - plain text log file

  • $Console - computer display

  • $Debugger - debug console

  • $NetPub - network publisher that sends traces

  • $NetSub - network publisher that receives traces

  • $Tactics - tactics database logger

Each device type has a number of options that you can specify when you set up the device. Some options are common to all device types. All device options are described in the following sections:
