Buy Shares In An Album
[update] spoke with Stephen from the band and the PayPal link is thus - https://www.firstofthegiants.co.uk/paypal.html .
This novel idea for getting an album off the ground was sent to my by a pal this weekend. In a nutshell, you can buy up to 3 shares at £5 a go from a band called FirstOfTheGiants.
Depending on how well the album sells, you can trade or sell your shares for a profit or just sit on them happy in the knowledge that you own part of a band for a few quid.
You can get the full details on the post Share our band on their blog or follow them on Twitter. Shares can be bought through PayPal (though I couldn’t find a link so emailed them) and in terms of what a shareholder gets, here’s the lowdown
- Shareholder certificate
- 3 high quality MP3 of the currently recorded songs and limited edition artwork
- Their name on the finalised album artwork
- Free entry to the album launch show
- Regular sales updates via email (and text message if desired)
- First call on future share offers
- Overwhelming glow of helping out an independent record label and band
Should you be inclined, you can get a full prospectus from itoldthemabouttheshares@firstofthegiants.co.uk
Good luck fellas….now where do I send my £15?

A great concept, and kudos to this band for road testing a new model of finance when a great many in the record industry are all at sea. Will follow with interest...Anonymous

Thanks for the coverage and comments guys. I've linked to our paypal site in my sig and we also accept bank transfers and cheques. It's all going pretty well so far and we've been very flattered by all the positive feedback. As Steve mentions above, if you would like a copy of the Prospectus (or if you have any questions) then please email me directly on the address above.
