I've been reading a series of posts by N. Alex Rupp on his experiences at TechEd, and his thoughts on the Microsoft and Java communities.

I'm especially interested in this because I'm going to JavaOne at the end of the month...

    I'm interested too... and friday I'm on the Webbit in Italy for a conference about J2EE, and I will be there for a .NET comparison! :)

    In a few weeks, the main Java conference will kick off in San Francisco. JavaOne is the Java equivalent to Microsoft's PDC or TechEd. But where with those conferences, you see bloggers proudly declare that "they'll be there", with special icons and even special blog-sites, there seems to be very little of that going on in the Java camp.
