After MS Update my Office account seems terminated

An update caused the shortcut links of my MS apps to move without warning. I searched for how to repair the links and now I seem to be in limbo because I get the message that I now have to resubscribe and pay. I put in my valid Key and the error message says Technical Problem, please try later. What is going on here?
