Check the status LED on the back of the device:
- Solid white: Device is powered on and working properly.
- Not lit: Device does not have a connection to the PC.
- Flashing white: Device is powered on but doesn't have a USB 3.0 data connection.
- Flashing amber: Device doesn't have enough power to operate.
- Amber, then flashing white: Device is powered on and getting a firmware update or a reset to the factory settings.
Try changing to a different USB port directly on the back of a desktop PC, avoiding USB hubs. Check the USB hardware for compatibility issues. If using your own cables or extenders, try using the provided cables instead. Ensure the PC is plugged into power if using a laptop or tablet.
