SharePoint Browser Navigation Behavior with Document Sets

In a SharePoint library with a default view, when opening a document set that has a different default view, the filter from the document set is retained upon returning to the library's top level instead of displaying the library's default view. Why does this occur?

Additionally, there seems to be a difference in behavior when navigating back using the browser's back button compared to using the breadcrumb navigation in the library. What accounts for this discrepancy?

The SharePoint library and document set only display different pages, but they both use the default view - All Documents. So, when you set a filter in the document set, you are actually setting a filter in the All-Documents view in the SharePoint library.

Navigating back using the browser's back button will not save your filter settings. Using the breadcrumb navigation in the library will retain your filter settings.
