From time to time my RDP connection gets lost and I am unable to reconnect unless I restart the VM. Please see the detailed error message down below.
I am connecting using a static IP and haven't had this problem before, it all started fairly recently after I reinstalled my home PC (Windows 11 Home). Both my local PC and Azzure VM are up to date.
So far I've tried:
- Changing RPD display settings (resolution, color), disabling "Persitent bitmap caching" etc.
- Connected via Serial console to verify that
TermService
was running (it was) and tried restart it manually
tasklist /svc | findstr /C:TermService
taskkill /F /PID [process_id]
net start TermService
- Resetting password / configuration only under Help > Reset Password
- Running through Troubleshooting under Support + Troubleshooting. The only clue I got was that my VM did not respond to a port scan of port '3389', which is the default port for RDP connection.
