Input text box is not working with the current webview2 (134.0.3124.51)

After an Webview2 update (v 134.0.3124.51) released March 6,2025, text input fields are not working. Users are unable to enter more than one digit into the text input field.

Anyone else facing the issue?

I test with the same version of WebView2 but failed to reproduce the issue. Could you please provide a minimal code snippet which can reproduce the issue?

By the way, you could check this issue. Does it the same issue as yours?

@Yu Zhou-MSFT This has to do something with the UDF cache that WebView2 is generating. It's reproducible with Number input fields with a UDF folder combination copied from the previous version of WebView2.

We received a update from MS that they're expecting to release an updated version of webview by 3/10's EOW.

Trying to rollback & the 5 alarm ensuing fires that are stacked against that rollback though...

This issue was first corrected with the release of version 134.0.3124.68: https://learn.microsoft.com/deployedge/microsoft-edge-relnote-stable-channel#version-1340312468-march-13-2025. You could try the latest version.

Is there an updated on if this may be released with tomorrow being Friday? Also is this tracked by Microsoft in status in the admin center if so what is the number to tracked?

We can reproduce like this:

Browse to the page
Input text
Submit the page
Browse to the same page
Input same text

the page submits the first character only

Workaround is to copy + paste the text from notepad

If we open in the browser, it works fine.

Issue is within Webview 2. Since this health care domain app, pathologist will not have time to do work around.

Is there any other way to fix this issue?

Chris Jones Yes, copy & Paste works. Thanks for sharing. We have a few other workarounds as well.

Install the previous fixed version and point the system to that using an environment variable.

Start your number with 0.

Have a number in the field, go out, and come back in. Remove the selection/highlight through the arrow keys and start entering the numbers.

These other workarounds work as well.
