Hi Maxime Dupont ,
We have noticed that you have rated an answer as not helpful. We appreciate your feedback and are committed to improving your experience with the Q&A.
Could you please follow the below steps.
- Create an additional host pool and set there the preferred app group type to remote apps
2.) Create a application group for desktop and remote app (so one for each)
2.2.) Add the application groups to the matching host pools.
3.) Add the users who should have access for both into desktop and remote app group
4.) Add the users who should ONLY see desktop OR remote Apps in the remote desktop client to the specific app group (like for desktop or remote app)
With this scenario, the users should be able to see both in the remote desktop apps (client).
Please refer blow Documentation for your refence.
Please check this troubleshooting steps as well.
If the AVD Remote App icon is not appearing in the Microsoft Remote Desktop client, despite the correct configuration of the Host Pool, Application Group, and assigned users, consider investigating the following potential issues: application publishing details, user permissions, client updates, and network connectivity.
- Confirm User Assignments:
It is essential to verify that users are properly assigned to the application group:
- Access the Host Pool -> Application Group -> Assignments section within the Azure portal.
- Ensure that the intended users are included in the assignments.
- Validate Workspace Association:
Check that the application group is correctly associated with a workspace:
- Navigate to the Application Group in the Azure portal.
- Confirm that it is connected to a workspace, as the absence of this link will prevent the Remote App from appearing in the client.
- Update the Remote Desktop Client:
Ensure that you are utilizing the most recent version of the Microsoft Remote Desktop client:
- Obtain the latest version from the [Microsoft Remote Desktop client page](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/virtual-desktop/remote-desktop-clients).
- Verify Application Configuration:
Reassess the application's configuration in the Azure portal:
- Confirm that the application path, command-line parameters, and other relevant settings are accurately configured.
- Ensure that the application is installed on the session hosts within the host pool.
- Assess Host Pool Health:
Check that the session hosts in the host pool are operational and healthy:
- Go to the Host Pool -> Session Hosts section in the Azure portal.
- Verify that the session hosts are in a healthy state and powered on.
- Examine Network Connectivity:
Ensure that there are no network issues obstructing the Remote Desktop client from connecting to the AVD service:
- Review the network configuration.
