Talent Scouts Blogging!

Scoble is so fast I can’t even beat him to a post when I have advance warning from a family member. My wife Gretchen, who works as a recruiter, has recently been working on several cool projects designed to “increase the talent pool” and enrich the experience of people who might be interested in technical positions at Microsoft. There are a lot of “black holes” at Microsoft and I’m sure a lot of people have felt that way about their contact with career pages or recruiting. One way they are trying to alleviate this and create a better connection with the developer community is through the “Technical Careers @ Microsoft Blog”. You should check it out.

In what could have been a very bad move for my marriage I agreed with some of Scobles feedback. Thankfully, so did Gretchen. I’m looking forward to see who they can get as guest posters and seeing where this goes. I’m sure they would also like your feedback.

It’s been pretty exciting around the Ledgard household with both family members getting deeper into the developer community space and both learning as we go to speak a more common language around work activities.

  My husband and I both blog too... I wonder how many family teams at Microsoft there are that blog =)

  I bet the ratio will probably be pretty good. Once one person starts doing it the value add gets seen pretty quickly.
